HER Breast Friends was founded in November 2005 as a result of the friendship formed between Jan Jones and the late Liz Drury during treatment for Breast Cancer.  They realised that no matter how Breast Cancer touched your life, there was a will and a need to do something positive and the idea of HER Breast Friends began.  After talking to other people who were also undergoing treatment for Breast Cancer it was realised there was a need for a group that didn’t focus on the disease, but brought together the courage, strengths and determination of those affected.

HER Breast Friends is now a pro-active group of people whose members, male and female, range in age, but are all experiencing, or have experienced, Breast Cancer, in very differing situations and circumstances.  The main aim is to help create a positive environment for all those affected by Breast Cancer, providing encouragement and friendship.  When it comes to support, we cannot offer medical advice or information about Breast Cancer or its treatments, but we know from experience the people who can.

HER Breast Friends actively promotes awareness of the available support and advice networks within our area, and we will always help where and in ways that we are able.

HER Breast Friends is an organisation that isn’t just about support but inspires and encourages and really does try to make a difference.

We hope you will want to join us to make sure that the affects you may be feeling are put to use in a positive way.

It will be the beginning of some extraordinary friendships.
