About Us

We are a pro-active group whose main aim is to fundraise for causes connected with the care, treatment and welfare of Breast Cancer Patients.

We are not a support group in the conventional sense, but we do acknowledge that support can be an important factor for some people.

That is why we separate the two

Our meetings provide a positive environment for encouragement and friendship, and for organizing events that will raise money for our chosen causes.

We arrange social activities for our members, and we occasionally invite Guest Speakers to address us.

When it comes to support, we cannot offer medical advice or information about Breast Cancer or its treatments, but we know from experience the people who can.

Hull & East Riding Breast Friends actively promote awareness of the available support and advice networks within our area, and we will always help where and in ways that we are able.

As with everything else in life there are always plenty of demands on our time and HER Breast Friends are only too aware that your time, energy and availability can go up and down as circumstances change.

The very nature of the group means that members will drift in and out.

Everyone has different skills and levels of commitment that they can offer, some will be more active within the group than others, but be assured that the only thing we ask of you is to help to maintain the positive spirit of the group.

With over 40,000 newly diagnosed cases of Breast Cancer each year there are a lot of people who are touched by the disease in one way or another.
